For those of you who may not know, I’ve recently discovered a passion for sewing. What started off as a simple desire to make a costume, blossomed into a quest to fill my closet with handmade, one of a kind pieces. One of the things I love about sewing is that you can truly customize a garment to the vision you have as a designer.
Hey! Happy second day of fall! The weather in Boston is definitely cooling off and I am starting to get in the autumn mindset. Besides the foliage and fall fashion, one of my favorite things about autumn is the apple picking. There’s nothing that beats the taste of a fresh picked apple. Can someone say homemade apple pie?!?
Over the past several years, our annual apple picking trip has become a tradition. I’ve visited a number of apple orchards in the Greater Boston area, and wanted to share my favorites with you.
Summer is well underway, and with summer comes heat. While I love warmer weather, it can sometimes be challenging to dress cute and comfortably during the warmer months. One way I like to stay cool is by incorporating white into my summer wardrobe. The color white naturally reflects light as opposed to darker colors that absorb light and convert it into heat.
Hi there! I am returning to the blog after taking a mini break during Lent. I’m so excited that warm weather has finally reached Boston. The daffodils in my garden finally opened up this past Sunday. To celebrate the arrival of spring, I am sharing this look I wore on Easter. I love the classic combo of a soft feminine blouse and A-line skirt.
For those of you who may or may not know, one of my favorite vegetarian/vegan restaurants is Life Alive in Cambridge. I absolutely love their Swami bowl. It’s my favorite thing on their menu. I wanted to find a way to duplicate it myself so that I could make it at home. After some trial and error, I was able to put together a recipe that I think comes pretty close to the original. I hope you enjoy it with all its curry deliciousness!
Happy March everyone! Can you believe how fast the year is going by?! As some of you may know, the season of Lent started this past Wednesday on March 1 and lasts 40 days until April 13. As part of my church community, I am fasting during Lent. I’ve given up sweets, dairy and meat. Through trial and error I’ve come up with some healthy, tasty and filling recipes that are my go-to’s for Lent. I’ll be sharing more recipes throughout the month, but I wanted to start off sharing a healthy breakfast inspiration. Even if you are not fasting, you can incorporate these recipes into your diet as healthy alternatives.
I’m sharing details from my recent trip to Vermont. It really is such a beautiful place, especially in the winter. Among all the things to do, skiing is definitely at the top. One of the advantages of living in New England is that ski country is literally in your backyard. A group of friends and I visited Chester for a girl’s weekend. I finally got to ski for the first time. I can’t believe I had never gone before, because it was a lot of fun. I will definitely be taking more lessons in the future to improve my skills.
Give your nails some love with this cute heart manicure. I combined white, pink and gold for a Valentine’s Day inspired nail design.
